Instax Mini Film

Pedestrian

2025

I started shooting instant film as a lower stakes practice. Street photography was taking a lot out of me. Walking for hours, and making candids or asking for portraits required confidence and energy. I felt burnt out. Simultaneously, I became interested in photographs that resonated with me without spectacle, and instant film as a democratized medium. The accessibility reminded me of music I love like Punk Rock and Hip Hop. Working as a photographer for car dealerships had me spending my time in parking lots and alleyways. The environment reminded me of jobs I had as a kid in auto shops and carpentry. My sentimentality and the slower approach got me shooting again.
